Welcome to our web site!
INTRODUCTION
Welcome to
the website of 1st Bearley and Snitterfield Scout Group. We hope that
you find it both informative and easy to navigate. Our Group,
located a few miles north of Stratford-upon-Avon, has in excess of seventy
members with each of the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts sections being strongly
represented. Our site is also “home” to local Explorer and Network Groups
too. Whilst the
site is near to the villages of Bearley and Snitterfield, we have a wide
catchment area, which includes Claverdon, Hatton and Norton Lindsey. The
villages of Henley-in-Arden, Wootton Wawen and Wilmcote also provide many
members for the Group. 4.1 acres of
land surrounded by woodland provides an ideal setting for our hut. There is
sufficient space for our current range of activities and it is more than
adequate to allow us to realise our ambitious plans to improve the site’s
accommodation and facilities. Our main
objective is very straightforward - to provide the best possible Scouting
environment for our members in a group that is well led, well financed and well
supported. We will
achieve this by ensuring we have sufficient Leaders that are trained, motivated
and committed to providing an interesting, challenging and varied Scouting
programme. The Leaders
will be supported by a fully functioning Group Executive Committee that is
committed to raising adequate funds to finance the maintenance of and
improvement to the Group’s site and buildings and, to the acquisition of
appropriate equipment. The Leaders
and Committee Members will also ensure that parents are kept informed as to the
Group’s activities. They will strive to obtain regular parental involvement in
support of Group and section events and, the Group’s fundraising efforts. Like every
other scout group, 1st Bearley and Snitterfield Scout Group is
ultimately transient as its members, Leaders and supporters come and go with
time. However, it is our responsibility, to ensure that we, and the rest of the
team, add to the permanence of the Group’s standing within our local community
and this website will help us to achieve this. Mike Hayward Nick Adams Group Scout Leader
